What Can We Trust? Navigating Health Information in the Misinformation Era
14.00 - 14.30 (BST)
15.00 - 15.30 (CET)
09.00 - 09.30 (EST)
From social media platforms to emerging AI tools, the ways we access health information are rapidly evolving. But not all sources are created equal — why do we trust some over others, and what makes certain platforms feel more reliable?
This session will unpack the behavioural science and psychology behind trust in healthcare information, exploring the biases that shape how we process information in a digital world, and the psychological shortcuts that leave us vulnerable to misinformation. We’ll also discuss what individuals and organisations can do to spot, counter, and prevent misinformation in the health space.

What AI Gets Wrong about Behavioural Science
14.40 - 15.05 (BST)
15.40 - 16.05 (CET)
09.40 - 10.05 (EST)
While AI can digest vast amounts of data in minutes, hunting out patterns like a digital magnet searching for that needle in the haystack, there are still a great many things it gets wrong.
In this session we’ll explore some of the challenges of asking a machine to predict and/or interpret human behaviour, and how these shortcomings bear more than a passing resemblance to conventional economic theories which assume people are inherently rational and make the most sensible and beneficial choice available to them.

The Psychology Inside Your Health App: Behavioural Science in Digital Health
15.15 - 15.40 (BST)
16.15 - 16.40 (CET)
10.15 - 10.40 (EST)
Digital Health is transforming health care – but patient engagement remains a key challenge. Join us to uncover how behavioral science can bridge the gap between technology and real-world behavior change.
In this session, we’ll explore the benefits of digital health, “big E” and “little e” engagement, and how behavioural science principles are being applied to boost patient engagement and healthcare outcomes. You’ll also learn about future trends and ethical considerations when designing digital health solutions.

Beyond Self-Reports: Leveraging Digital Tools and Passive Methodologies to Capture Authentic Patient Behaviour
15.50 - 16.20 (BST)
16.50 - 17.20 (CET)
10.50 - 11.20 (EST)
This session explores how traditional research methods often fall short of capturing genuine patient behaviour due to the Hawthorne effect and social desirability bias. We'll examine cutting-edge digital tools including wearables, sensors, social media analytics, and Reality Mine data that can provide unfiltered insights into actual patient actions and adherence patterns.
The webinar will demonstrate practical techniques for implementing passive data collection methods whilst addressing the critical trade-off between accuracy and actionable insights. Attendees will learn when to prioritise passive methodologies over traditional approaches and how to strategically combine both for comprehensive patient understanding.
