Hey Alma Hebrew School High Holidays

And this time, we’re focusing on the spiritual, intimidating, magical and sometimes confusing High Holiday season! Taught by Rabbi Arielle Stein with the creativity and verve that led Vogue to feature her, our 4-week virtual curriculum will give you a deeper understanding of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah. Together, we'll learn why we celebrate and how — just in time to do it yourself for 5787 (the upcoming Jewish new year).

No matter what your level of observance or prior education may be, these classes are for you. So start off the High Holiday season right: having the most fun you’ll ever have in Hebrew school with Hey Alma.

Featured in Vogue and the New York Times for her fashion-forward and creative approaches to Judaism, Rabbi Arielle Stein is a NYC-based visual artist and Assistant Rabbi at Congregation Rodeph Sholom. She was ordained by Hebrew Union College in 2024, earned her BFA at New York University in 2014, and has taught for Colby College, the Union for Reform Judaism and more.

On social media, Arielle explores the intersections between visual art, style and Judaism. She is the co-founder of Rabbinic Fit Check and a frequent contributor to the popular NYC Shabbat experience, Schtick.

Are the courses live or pre-recorded?
The courses are live, and recordings will be made available to all students after each session.
What if I can’t join for one or more weeks?
No problem! You’ll be able to access a recording of any session you missed.
Will I get to chat with my fellow students?
Yes! Both during the class and afterwards, you’ll have opportunities to connect and schmooze with your fellow Hebrew School students.
Do I have to be Jewish to attend?
No! These classes are open to anyone interested in learning more about Jewish rituals, customs and history.
Are there any age limits?
Hey Alma Hebrew School is open to anyone between the ages of 18-120.
Will there be any tests or assessments?
We would never do that to you.
